The Trail Foundation celebrated the completion of the much-anticipated $2.5 million Trail Bridge at Congress Avenue on May 31 with remarks from Mayor Steve Adler, Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo, and executive director Heidi Anderson. The new 14-foot wide, 172-foot long stretch of elevated trail, on the north side of Lady Bird Lake beneath the Ann Richards-Congress Avenue Bridge, replaces a narrow, 40-year-old wooden structure. The new boardwalk takes trail users out over the water and includes a viewing platform.

The Downtown Austin Alliance is honored to support this and other projects of The Trail Foundation.
