Troy Holme
(512) 482-5509
Completed in 1910, The Scarbrough Building at the corner of Sixth and Congress exemplifies the Chicago style of architecture popular at the start of the 20th Century in America. The Scarbrough Building was Austin's first steel and concrete structure, and at eight stories, a bona fide "skyscraper." Originally home to Emerson Monroe Scarbrough's dry goods store, it became known locally as "Scarbrough's" and was the finest department store in central Texas. Commerical tenants enjoy the unique features of this office building including hardwood floors, marble details and other historic decorative features throughout the building.
