Ongoing Studies
The City of Austin and their consultants McCann Adams Studio are working with the community to define the 25-year vision for downtown Austin and to develop a strategy for implementing the community's vision. Various aspects of the plan include transportation and urban rail, density bonus, affordable housing, district planning, infrastructure, and implementation. The draft plan was released in November 2010.
Downtown Austin Parks & Open Space Master Plan (scroll down)
The City of Austin and their consultants ROMA worked with the community to create a vision for great public spaces and to develop a strategy for implementing the community's vision. Components of the plan include park and open space inventory and assessment, short- and long-term improvements, programs and elements each space should support, how public spaces work as a system, researching best practices, and a funding strategy to achieve the goals.
Waller Creek District Master Plan
The City of Austin and their consultants ROMA worked with the community to create a vision the Waller Creek District and to develop a strategy for implementing the community's vision. The Austin City Council adopted this plan June 24, 2010. The redevelopment of the Waller Creek area will be made possible by a flood-control tunnel that will be completed in 2014.
